Happy summer, DormDelicious readers! Hope you are spending your time productively, by which we mean browsing DormDelicious while bored at your summer internship.
As you may guess, we here at DormDelicious get a ton of e-mails all the time about college products, dorm decorating websites, and on and on. Well, we just started sifting through them, deleting the ads for male enhancement products (or saving them for later?) and we're ready to present to you our first Dorm Room Link Party of the summer: The Summer Inbox Edition. For this edition, we checked out all the links we've been sent over the last few weeks and picked out some gems we thought you should check out. Without further ado...
What would summer be without... an inflatable beer pong table?
PortoPong thinks no pool should be without beer pong (or beirut if you want to be a jerk about it). Well, we here at DormDelicious say, why not?! Unless of course, you are under 21, in which case you should be playing water pong. But not with the pool water. Never with the pool water.
BenQ is giving away GP1 Mini Projectors and gift cards until August 19th!
The company behind the Joybee GP1 compact projector [read our review] is giving some away, along with ten gift cards, to people who share a story about how to have fun economically. And if there's anything college students should know, it's how to have fun on a budget!
Also, as a special bonus to DormDelicious readers, use the code COL0001 if you buy one of these projectors and get a free 2 year warranty.
Design Your Dorm lets you, uh, design your dorm
We've seen a couple products since launching DormDelicious that help you lay out your dorm before you get there, but DYD definitely has the most curb appeal (and is the most aptly named). The interface is slick, and lets you see a 3D model of your dorm. You can add products and then it lets you know where to buy them. Definitely worth checking out.
The Prudent Student is helpful and rhyming!
The Prudent Student offers tips about the college admissions process, written mostly it seems by students or people who at least know what they're talking about. And it's organized by school, so you can check out the ones you're interested in attending (or already plan to attend!) The site is updated often, so give it a look.
Eli from Freshman In The Kitchen just interviewed Ben Ford
Ben Ford, along with being Harrison's son, runs an amazing restaurant in Culver City not far from us called Ford's Filling Station. For all foodies, this interview is a must read. And for budding college cooks out there, check out this recipe for dorm room potato skins by the Freshman In The Kitchen duo.
College Mogul will teach you why you should skip those i-banking interviews and start your own business
College Mogul is a slick blog about being an entrepreneur in college and after college. They've got interviews, advice, and keep you up to date on potential opportunities in the college entrepreneur world. Hey, if DormDelicious did it, anyone can, right?
Whirlpool wants to make sure you know how to do your own laundry
Yes the laundry experts themselves, the Whirlpool Institute of Fabric Science, are going to teach you how to do your laundry. We'll be honest, we had absolutely no clue what we were doing that first day in the laundry room, so a little tutorial before you matriculate this fall might be in order. Also, we don't know about you, but we wish we could have studied at the Whirlpool Institute of Fabric Science, if such a thing exists...
Finally, a little plug for the politically active among us...
You may or may not know that the folks behind DormDelicious are total political junkies, and our latest project is called PopRule and it's a political action platform that aims to make it easy for everyone to take action and support issues, candidates, and groups that they care about. Check it out and make an impact!
That's it for the Summer Inbox Edition of the Dorm Room Link Party, y'all. Party hard this summer, but don't forget to save time for the important things in life. Like deciding on the perfect couch for your dorm next year. And when you're all moved in, send us a picture and tell us how it went!

That inflatable beer pong table may be one of the best inventions ever! I bet a lot of college students will find that handy this summer. :)
