Here's a suggestion if you need to provide your own furniture, but you don't want to spend a fortune or sacrifice style. If your crafty or have some assistance from someone with experience, consider refurbishing old furniture. I got a used coffee table for free from my mom's coworker. It was worn, marked up, and an unattractive color. So, I decided to paint and personalize. I went to Home Depot and bought paint and a lacquer that wouldn't ruin photographs. After sanding down the table so the paint would adhere, I used the basic black paint I bought to give the coffee table a whole new look. Then I picked out some of my favorite digital pictures and printed them. I measured and cut them to be the same size for a border for my table. I played aroung with positioning on the table to get the fit right. Then I glued them all down onto the painted table. Hint- make sure to completely cover the back side of the photo with glue. Otherwise, air can get in and cause bubbles. Once all the photos are glued down, follow the instructions on your lacquer and cover the entire top of the table. Then just wait for it to dry! You'll have an awesome piece of art that is functional and will be a hit with all your friends- especially if you include pictures of them on your table!
